AWR1443BOOST: Having issues with demo visualiser and 3d pointclouds

Hi Chris,

As you noticed, the mmWave Visualizer version 3.1 has been replaced by 3.2, and version 3.1 is no longer available. The new version is only compatible with mmWave SDK versions 3.0 and beyond. The long term supported release for the xWR1443 is SDK 2.1, so you should use version 2.1 of both the SDK and the Visualizer. 

To generate point clouds for 3-D with xWR14xx, you need to select "4Rx, 3Tx (15 deg + Elevation)" as your Antenna Config under the Configure tab --> Setup Details. Then, select "Scatter Plot" under Plot Selection. This should show real points positioned on a 3-D plane.

Thanks for your quick reply.

Like I said, when I use the 3d config - both within the mmWave Visualiser and with the ROS driver - all the points are randomly distributed on a 3d plane and don't seem to represent anything in front of the sensor.  I have followed all of the recommended literature.

Can you post a picture of what you are seeing on the Visualizer? Can you also share the settings in your Configuration tab?
