LDC1614: Trying to design triangular coils

My application requires 4-layer triangular coils which does not seem to be supported in your coil designer tool. Is there an alternate method available for the design of these coils?

    Hi Jordan,

    We generally recommend using circular coils if possible because they have the minimal series resistance and maximum inductance. In some cases we recommend square coils to maximum small spaces. We don't see many applications that require triangular coils, so we don't have a tool to design them. 

    What is your application? Is it possible to use a circular coil in the same space?

    Unfortunately not, the triangular coil is a firm requirement. I was in communication with a Systems Architect at TI a couple of years ago who helped me with some initial coils and then the project was put on pause. It doesn't seem like the tools have changed since then, and my contact is no longer at TI. Is there a current SA I can speak to about my application?
