AWR1642: CCS/AWR1642

Part Number: AWR1642

Hi all,

We are developing an application based on the srrdemo_16xx design.

We are operating only the SRR frame: 128 chirps about 9 ms with frame periodicity of 100 ms.

90% of the time the application is idle, but the AWR1642 is fully powered during this interval.

Is there any available orderly procedures to place the xWR1642 in sleep/power down mode during the inter frame interval and to wake up just before the new frame time has arrived, while keeping the content without need to reload it each frame?

It is very important for us to reduce power consumption because our system will be battery powered.

Thank you,

Claudio

  • Hello Claudio,

Internally in the firmware we already turn OFF all the RF and most of analog inbetween the frames to save power. It then powers up just before the next frame.

The only way the digital can be turned OFF completely is by pulling low the nRST signal, but in that case the device would need complete reconfiguration.

    regards,

    Vivek

  • Hi Vivek,

Pulling low nRST and reconfiguration between frames will upset the overall system operation.

    Thanks anyway...

    regards,

    Claudio
