IWR6843ISK: Visualizer error during IVM6843ISK demo test

Part Number: IWR6843ISK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi Team,

The hardware configuration is IWR6843ISK+MMWAVEBOOST;

The software and materials are:
①mmWaveIndustrial Toolbox 3.5.0;
②Uniflash 5.0.0
③mantalb2017.a matlab runtime2017.a(9.2)

Customer wants to run lab15 people_counting_demo

Run the demo according to pplcount_user_guide in mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_5_0__win\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_5_0\labs\lab0015_pplcount_68xx\docs.
Customer follows the steps of the userguide. When running the visulizer, configure the existing cfg file and click start to report the error. The following is a prompt diagram of the terminal.

Customer would like to know if it is not configured properly?

  • Hi Annie,

    I want to confirm that the screenshot is showing the error "src/termios.c line 2723.  This means that the Matlab Serial API is not functioning properly.  This is usually an issue with the permissions on the user's computer.

    Regards,

    Justin

  • Hi Justin,

    The error are both src / termios.c line 2723 and src / termios.c line 512. Please see the screenshot below for details. Customer would like to ask how to configure matlab to use normally?

  • Hi Annie,

    I want to confirm that the customer has the XDS110 UART drivers installed.  These come with CCS. Are there any other programs open that use the COM Ports?

    Regards,

    Justin

  • Customer installed the following software according to the instructions on user guide. In addition, CCS is installed, but he was not running.

    Regarding the COM port, if he wants to write another bin file after each burning of the bin file, the bin will be occupied. Customer can only solve by restart. Sometimes when restarting once, the uniflash software will get stuck and prompt to open the UART port information, it is need to restart it again. Customer performed the previous steps on other computers and had the same result. So he does't know which software is taking up the COM port.

  • Hi Annie,

    It seems like uniflash is not properly releasing the COM Port after it flashes. We have recommended the latest version of Uniflash - what version is the customer on?

    Has the customer been able to flash other demos on the device and run them afterwards? A good test would be to flash the Out of Box demo, then test it with Lab0021, Area Scanner 68xx. This lab uses the same Com Port drivers as the People Counting lab, so it should experience the same issue if it is a Uniflash problem, or a system problem.

    Regards,

    Justin
