Hi guys,

I am here on this forum to ask two questions :-) Here, I will just ask one question and then ask the other one in another post. The reason is because we ordered the capture card but its taking ages to reach this part of Africa - and we kind of like set back on the deadlines. I am out of options, so I think this is what we can do in the meantime.

My fist question is, how can I add the Doppler processing block on the DSP chain of the Vehicle Occupancy Detection lab, transmit that data as a matrix, and view the Range-Doppler heat-map in MATLAB? or how can I transmit the range vs slow time samples through UART of the Vehicle Occupancy Detection lab.

Hi,

Sending debug data over UART will be very slow, so I recommend to switch to CAN interface where you can send all these debug data and on PC collect and process as required.

If you follow mmw demo application where all the object results are copied to HSRAM and then MSS reads that data to send over UART. Same way you can add your custom data here to send over UART.

Follow these functions

mss_main.c: MmwDemo_mboxReadTask()

dss_main.c: MmwDemo_dssSendProcessOutputToMSS()

Now you need to implement same way in other application as well (VOD).

In terms of slow speed, that's not really import - I do not have to get the data in real time, even if it is delayed its ok. The PCAN-USB FD CAN adapter required to send data over CAN is really costly as well, considering that we also bought the DCA1000EVM but we yet to receive it.

So the only option we have at the moment is to try and calculate the Range-Doppler heatmap and send over UART.

Hi,

In some form mmw demo already sends user data over UART which you can enhance as per your required data set.
