AWR1843: Minimum current consumption when CAN Interface is active

Part Number: AWR1843

Hello expert,

Our customer wants to start the evaluation of CAN interface in AWR1843.
Then they wants to confirm the minimium current consuption value after sending the SensorStop command.

They found minimum 50mA value in Table5-3 in AWR1843.pdf data sheet.
Is this the value after that command?

They think this value is big under such a condtion,
so they might use another CAN I/F controller which have smaller current consumption at  the idle state instead of AWR1843 CAN I/F.

  • Hello Fujinaka San,

In the state when frame stop is given and the CAN interface is active the total power consumption of the complete chip would be around 550mW (typical), all rails put together. This chip has lot more digital than just the CAN IP. So the current would be higher.
