AWR1243BOOST: AWR1243

Part Number: AWR1243BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1243

Hi:

In AWR1243BOOST circuit, 1.3V power supply is added to the port through a 0 ohmic resistance on the VOUT_PA port.

Does this 1.3V power supply have to be added from the outside? (note: the VOUT_PA port feature in AWR1243 is O)

  • Hello,

The VOUT_PA is the output of the 1.0V internal LDO for the RF. When you supply with 1.3V externally, the internal LDO will bring the voltage down to 1.0V. If you are supplying with 1.3V, you should not connected the VOUT_PA pin to the 1.3V supply.

For three simultaneous TX operation, the internal LDO is not capable of supplying the necessary current, so we need to bypass the internal LDO and supply 1.0V externally. When supplying 1.0V externally and bypassing the internal LDO then VOUT_PA needs to be shorted to the external RF supply.

    Regards,

    Adrian
