IWR6843AOPEVM without MMWAVEICBOOST

Part Number: IWR6843AOPEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MMWAVEICBOOST

Hello all.

I am interested in evaluating the IWR6843AOPEVM Evaluation board, however I don't know if I need to purchase also the MMWAVEICBOOST, since I have many JTAG devices from other DSPs boards.

What does MMWAVEICBOOST provide? Is it possible to load software/program/debug with the IWR6843AOPEVM as standalone?

Is it possible to check the video and sync radar signals?

Thank you

  • Hi,

The MMWAVEICBOOST provides debug, raw data capture connectivity, SPI and interface to the antenna board peripherals etc.  in standalone mode you have access to UART, you can flash the EVM and get data out of the UART port.

I recommend getting MMWAVEICBOOST  for complete access to all the features

Please see user manual and schematic for more details

  • Thank you Charles!!

I only need JTAG debugging and check some signals, I would like to avoid storing another carrier board on the shelves.

Is there any way to use an external JTAG on the IWR6843AOPEVM? I don't mind some soldering

    Thank you

  • Hi,

JTAG debug can only be done using the 60 pin connector on the back of the IWR6843AOPEVM that mates with the carrier. If you have a debugger with similar connector and pinouts then that should work.
