Part Number: PGA411Q1EVM
Hello,
I am having a problem when I am trying to read the angle position through the parallel interface.
My problem appears as thus, when powering up the board, applying 5v to larger terminals and then plugging in USB to Laptop. I am able to open the GUI and use it to read the angle. However, when I use an external microcontroller to read the parallel pins, I am seeing incorrect values, (only some of the pins are changing states).
With the GUI Open, I was able to see that the ORD pins are not displaying the correct value as what is shown in the Stat5 Register. This however changes when in the GUI I set the O mode to Out-High or Input-HiZ. after selecting one of these options the ORD pins now display the correct values.
However, when I supply 3.3v from an external microcontroller to the O mode pin (J11 pin 28) I see that the ORD pins all go to zero and upon further investigation with an oscilloscope I see that the excitation signal itself is being forced to zero when 3.3v is applied.
Is there some short occurring or perhaps some fault I am not seeing that is created when externally powering the O Mode pin? I see the same behavior when I use the B mode Pin in the same way.
Perhaps I need to mess with the jumpers?
For reference I have A0 grounded and A1 supplied with 3.3v. I Have tried grounding INHIB and powering it and it has had no effect on the state of the pin in the GUI or on the excitation signal.
