OPT3101: how to avoid detect target which is out of FOV? and how to detect the distance only for the target which has nearest distance?

if there is any method to avoid the sensor detect the target which is out of FOV?

and for the phase computing, if we have target in the near distance partial in the FOV, and also has target in the far distance partial or full in the FOV, can we only computing the distance from the nearest distance, instead of weighted average the distance which give out a very meaningless distance??? if software can do that?
