IWR6843ISK: Developping my own carrier card platform

Hi,

I am using IWR6843ISK with SDK_03_02_00_04.

I would like to develop my own carrier card platform to add a BLE module and to reduce the size of the system. The BLE module will send post processed data to a touch pad to display detected objetcs.

The carrier card platform will be plugged to the IWR6843ISK thanks to 60 pins connectors (J1 and J2). It will manage all the voltage conversion and then the power supply of the IWR6843ISK.

A microcontroller will make the link between IWR6843ISK and BLE module. RS232_TX (pin 59 - J1) and RS232_RX (pin 57 - J1) will be used to send config to the device. MSS_LOGGER (pin 18 - J1) will be used to receive post processed data.

Does this configuration is OK ? Do I forgot something ? What should I pay attention to ? Do I need to modify code of mmw_demo on Code Composer Studio ?

Hi,

It appears you are on the right path. For UART data transfer you need the User UART and MSS Logger.

if you are replacing the carrier card you need to ensure you have SOP0,SOP1, SOP2, and reset to be able configure boot mode and reset the board. There are other debug and test function on the carrier card that will be unavailable if not included in you custom platform. Ultimately you have to ensure you have all the peripherals needed for your application.

Something is a bit strange for me. MSS_LOGGER come from SPI_CLK_2 of IWR6843 chip. Are the datas coming from a SPI Clock ? Can I transmit that data with UART?

Hi,

The device implements pin muxing. The pin labeled SPI_CLK_2 is muxed to MSS_Logger
