Hi Team,

My custom has the following problems in using LDC1314:

1、The data collected by LDC1314 are always unstable and the initial values of the data collected often change.

2、The acquisition distance is very short.

What can be done to solve these two problems?

Hi Amy,

The instability could be because the sensor is configured incorrectly. The sensor oscillation amplitude must be between 1.2V-1.8V for accurate sensing. Please see this application note for details about setting the appropriate drive current. If their sensor is configured correctly, this application note about improving inductive sensing resolution may help.

The sensing distance is almost completely dependent upon the diameter of the sensor coil. For larger sensing distances a larger coil is required. This is discussed in more detail in LDC Sensor Design.
