AWR1443BOOST: Single Object Detection

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1443

Hello,

Is there any way to track or detect single strong object in front of radar in limited range?

There is high accuracy range measurement lab compatible with ES2.0 for single strong object detection, but it calculates only range/x not all x,y,z co-ordinates.

I need all three coordinates to be calculated and want to restrict angle of detection or area of detection. How it can be done?

I have AWR1443 ES3.0 board. I even ported high accuracy lab for ES3.0, but it is detecting more objects rather than single object. Help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

Yes you should be able to implement this use case with code changes.

The high accuracy demo is designed for range detection. Since it uses only 1Tx and 1Rx it does not support angle information (x,y,z) So it will not be possible to compute (x,y,z) for high accuracy demo

You will need to use the standard mmwave SDK OOB demo in order to have the (x,y,z) information

    thank you

  • Hello Cesar,

I agree with you. Can you please guide with approach to do so?

As I am new to this platform, I am struggling with lot many things regarding board.

    Thank you in advance!

  • Hi,

Please start by running the mmwave SDK OOB demo.

All information needed should be part of the SDK UG that is located here

    C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_02_00_04\docs\mmwave_sdk_user_guide.pdf

I will close this thread now.

If there are additional questions please start a new thread

    thank you
