AWR1642BOOST: Controlling a buzzer and a DC motor

Hi I am trying to use AWR1642BOOST to control a buzzer and a DC motor. I reckon enabling GPIO should work and I have figured out how to pinmux and set the port to output.

However, I am unsure as to how to actually connect a port on the EVM to the buzzer. I have jumpers which I suppose could connect one of the GPIO ports on the J6 connector to the buzzer, but it doesn't seem to work. Can you please advice?

Hi Hizkia,

AR_GPIO_0 is not connected on J6 header of AWR1642BOOST, so you need to solder 0 ohm resistor on R164 first.

Another AR_GPIO_2 is available on J5:18 which is also not connected, please connect R8 resistor and use GPIO_2 at header point of EVM.

I saw the schematic and it seems like all 3 GPIO ports need soldering to connect to the J5/J6. Is there any other way I could get access to a GPIO port? Would mux-ing ball P8 (default DSS logger) to GPIO_38 allow me to connect gpio38 to J5:4?

Hi,

Yes you can mux the other pins but you need to do pinmux from the application for that.

Please refer the available pin on required pad of the device from (<SDK>\packages\ti\drivers\pinmux\include\pinmux_16xx.h) file.
