Hii,

I am working on AWR1642BOOST radar sensor. I have successfully tested the demo visualizer of mmWave sensors. It's all working great for me. Can you please just tell how can I modify code and utilize AWR1642 for my application? Like, provide tutorials by which I can modify code and upload it to mmWave sensor. Also, can you provide sample programs? I am going to put AWR1642 radar on the drone. So, Can you suggest some algorithm by which I can use it for obstacle avoidance?

    Hi Harish,

    As a new mmwave sensor user we recommend you to follow these steps

    1. Follow this thread for all the important links related to mmwave sensor

    2. If you have bought AWR1642BOOST recently then it should be ES2.0 silicon variant, so you need to install and use mmWave SDK 2.1 onward version.

    3. Install SDK and all tool dependencies (come along with SDK installer).

    4. Follow mmwave SDK user guide pdf from <sdk installation>\docs\ directory.

    5. This document will explain you all the basic steps which you need to work with mmwave sensor application (mmw demo), building, flashing and executing the application (with Visualizer) and lot more info.

    6. Follow this link to get more technical information of mmwave sensor.
    7. Along with SDK we have different repository (TI Resource explorer) where you can find many other applications to cater lot more usecases (automotive and industrial). It have obstacle avoidance and drone based demo as well.

    Hope with these points you should able to start by your own now. For any further query please search in the same forum and create a new thread if you don't find in the existing threads.
