TMP102: I2C address selection

Part Number: TMP102

Dear E2E,

Customer is designing TMP102 address. We saw Pin function table in datasheet. it mentioned that user should choose GND or V+ to select address.

we also saw table 4 shown the connected option for A0 pin.

If customer's interface is i2c, Which one we should follow?

what is the different between i2c and two-wire?

BR,

Jason

  • Hi Jason,

    Thank you for your question.

Table 4 tells the customer all 4 possible connections that they can make for the ADD0 that the TMP102 will recognize, and their corresponding addresses. It is completely valid and can be used.

Most commonly we see the device connected to VDD or GND because this is simpler. I believe that when this datasheet was made they wrote it this way because they preferred to keep pin descriptions concise.
