DRV5032: DRV5032 Output1/2 pin connection

Part Number: DRV5032

Hi TI Experts,

For DRV5032, the DU, FD version of the DMR package has 2 output pin 1 & 2 for Unipolar magnetic response.

In this case, if I choose this DU, FD version, but just use one of the output is it ok?

If I only use one of the output, do I let the other output pin floating?

Please advice,

Thanks,

  • Hi Teach Me,

Great question! The answer is yes, you can use only one of the outputs. For the DU and FD version, as you can see from the snippet I took of the Datasheet in section 8.3.2.2 below, each of the outputs is bound to a single polar response (OUT1 to North, OUT2 to South), so you'll need to ensure that you choose the right output for the pole that you are using. You are also correct that you should leave the unused output floating.
