DCA1000EVM: Issue in downloading firmware

Part Number: DCA1000EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1642BOOST, UNIFLASH, AWR1642

Hi,

We are trying to capture data from AWR1642Boost using DCA1000 board. We have been able to set up mmwave studio and status of all the connections can be seen as Connected.

We are able to do all the steps starting from Set, Connect, Load BSS FW, Load MSS FW, SPI Connect, RF Powering successfully. When we hit run, a window pops up for downloading firmware to device. First time it shows that BSS FW is flashed successfully and the BSS firmware version is changed to 0.0.0.0(00/00/00) and  MSS firmware doesn't flash at all. We are stuck at this point and unable to proceed. Attachment is the picture captured for the same scenario. Please help us.

  • Hi,

    Can you try the following:

    1) Populate the SOP0 and SOP2 jumpers on the AWR1842 BOOST board and use the Uniflash tool to erase the flash.

    2) Then populate only the SOP0 and SOP1 jumpers and try again.

    Best Regards,

    Anand

  • Hi Anand,

We tried the mentioned steps but behavior is still the same.

And we are trying to dump the data from AWR1642Boost not on AWR1842 BOOST.

    Thanks,

    Srinivasan

  • Hi,

The procedure is the same for the AWR1642 BOOST.

Could you press the NRST button on the top side of the board after power-up before running any commands? Please post a picture of the top side of the board here after doing this - we're looking to confirm the jumper settings and LEDs on the top side.

Also, could you try doing the steps 1-6 (identified on the various buttons on the Connection tab of mmWave Studio) manually without using the script?

If it still doesn't work, could you also post the log file from mmWave Studio here?

    Best Regards,

    Anand
