IWR1443BOOST: Problems establishing serial connection with board

Part Number: IWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1443, UNIFLASH

Hello Community,

I am Undergrad student at Uni of Kentucky. And, working on Texas mmWave board IWR1443, and relatively new to domain.

As per the guideline provided on mmWave support page, I am trying to make the board UP to work further for my project. However, I am facing the problem that Out of Two ports (Configuration &  Data Port), I am able to establish connection with only one port, i.e. Configuration.

To support the understanding of community, I have done following steps and seek guidance if I am missing something.

    • installed the drivers as per guideline & I think the drivers have been installed. to corroborate my claim, I am attaching Screenshot of device manager. 2
To establish initial setup, I Started with Industrial toolbox  3.6.2 , SDK 2.1.0.4 , and CCS 9.1. I specifically worked on demo --> Vital Signs Lab. I followed steps listed at

http://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AJnRKebNfBmGy4M-M8oqkg__VLyFKFf__LATEST , however, I am not able to see any data that is coming from the board.

Please correct me, If I am doing anyhing wrong and provide inputs.

Thanks,

  • Jared,

I would suggest flashing the CCS Debug image in the "Meta Image 1" line, not in the second line. If you are flashing the CCS debug image, then I am guessing that you ran the Vital Signs executables from within Code Composer Studio.

We have seen some issues using version 9 of Code Composer Studio. I would suggest using version 8 for now.

In the meantime, you should try flashing the prebuilt binary found at this location: C:\ti\mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_6_2\labs\lab0002-vital-signs\lab0002_vital_signs_pjt\Prebuilt_binaries

    Flash this file: xwr14xx_vitalSigns_lab_mss.bin

Use Uniflash to complete this task and set this binary as "Meta Image 1"

    Regards,
    Kyle
