IWR6843: IWR6843 power consumption and how to reduce it?

Hi team,

Asking on behalf of a customer. IWR6843 max power consumption is approx 2W at highest operation duty cycle. Do you have any info how that scales down when duty cycle is reduced. E.g. a system scanning for objects in an area max 2m out from the sensor at 10Hz frame rate, would that help reduce total power consumption compared to a full TX output power and 30Hz frame rate implementation?

Hello,

Currently, IWR6843 is going through detailed power measurements, However you would notice definitely reduction in power when frame rate is reduced.

You could refer below IWR1642 power calculator, and provide the inputs for chirp configuration calculator shows the estimated power consumption. And you could play with the frame rate/Duty-cycle to estimate the power reduction. Scaling would be approximately similar in IWR6843.
