Hi Arpit,
The signal power is already maximized for this antenna design.

Hi Chloe,
is the transmit power always at maximum, i.e., at 12.5 dBm? Or is this more of a peak value that is rarely reached and the actual transmit power is adaptively changing?
Best regards
Hi Arpit,
Please see section 2.6 of the IWR1642BOOST user guide for help with the antenna power and radiation patterns.

Hi Chloe,
I'm afraid this did not answer my question. Let me repeat: Is the transmit power constant (always at maximum)? The section in the User Guide you referred to only states that it is always below a certain threshold (55 dBm). I'm more interested in a minimum threshold.
Best regards,
Hello,
The maximum transmit power is shown in the graphs in the user guide. It varies across angles and will vary some depending on what frequency it is operating at. It will be maximum at the center frequency of the antenna which is ~78.5GHz.

Hi Chloe,
no. The graphs have nothing to with power, they only depict the gain. What I am interested in: is the Tx power the same for all configurations? Does it equal the maximum Tx power? Or is the Tx power reduced if, for example, the max range to be detected is only a couple meters?
Maybe consult another colleague if it is not clear to you what my question is about.
Hello Arpit,
The transmit power will remain the same unless you include Tx power backoffs in your configuration. Please take a look at the mmWave sensing estimator to see how other parameters are affected by Tx power and distance.
