DCA1000EVM: DCA1000+AWR1642 COM port problems

No, this is not expected. It might be that the USB cable connection is not proper, can you change the USB cable and try? First make sure the COM port is stable. Also can you make sure the power supplies (5V)  to the AWR EVM and DCA1000 is proper? each of them should be >2.5A capacity.

Hi Vivek,

USB cables seems OK, I can see all the USB devices enumerated, I use two power supplies 3A each for DCA1000 and AWR1642.

You mentioned that the " Application/User COM port is not stable" , could you elaborate on that? Is the USB device enumeration not stable?

Hi,

Usb enumeration is stable and I can see all the mentioned devices in the device manager. The problem is connection in the mmwave Studio, when I try the steps Set->Connect in the program I receive the error message I mentioned earlier and can't get connected, i.e. FTDI connectivity status shows connected but RS232 and SPI connectivity always shows disconnected.

Hello Iman,

Do you have the right jumpers placed on the SOP pins of the AWR1642BOOST ? For connecting to the RS232 on mmwave studio the SOP jumpers should be placed on the SOP1 and SOP0 pins and no jumper placed on SOP2 pin.

Yes, the jumpers are placed correctly.

Any others suggestions? I´ve put many hours to get this boards working together without any progress.
