Hi guys,

I'm trying to develop a new application with my customer who would like to detect presence of people/workers in an area close to moving machinery. Now the question is which device do you suggest better?

Is there any difference between using the 60GHz or 77GHz band? Maybe any app notes that explains it?

Could you recommend an EVM to purchase and start evaluating?

    Hi Adrian,

    Have you seen the Area Scanner Lab that is on the TI Resource Explorer? It is for IWR6843ISK and MMWAVEICBOOST, you will need both of these boards in order to run the demo. I think you'll find that it is almost exactly what you are looking for.

    The 77GHz band is reserved almost exclusively for automotive applications so the 60GHz band and product line is almost entirely for the industrial space. Unless there is a glaring exception here, you'll want to use the 60GHz part.
