AWR1243: AWR1243P with Self-Calibration

Part Number: AWR1243

Hi Team,

With Self-Calibration,

Q1, What is the difference in RX gain and phase between RX ports?

Q2, Please tell me about the variation in TX power between TX ports.

Q3, Please explain the amount of fluctuation in the above parameters (gain difference between RX ports, phase difference between RX ports, power variation between TX ports) when temperature changes.

Thanks and Best regards,

Kuerbis

  • Hi,

Are these questions related to a single sensor environment?

    thank you

    cesar

  • Hi Cesar

I mean the difference between the ports of the device itself.

Does it change between a single sensor environment or cascade environment?

If so, I want to know both those and the reason.

    Thanks and Best regards,

     Kuerbis

  • Hi Cesar

Would you please update a status for the questions?

When Can I get the answer?

    Thanks and Best regards,

     Kuerbis

  • Hi Kuerbis,

Q1, What is the difference in RX gain and phase between RX ports?

RX gain and phase variation are reported in the AWR1243 datasheet, Section 5.7 "RF Specifications". RX gain mismatch is +/-0.5dB. RX phase mismatch is+/-3 deg. So worse-case difference across receivers in gain is 1dB and in phase is 6 deg.

Q2, Please tell me about the variation in TX power between TX ports.

Datasheet RF specifications report only typical TX power of 12dBm. No TX to TX output power mismatch specification is currently supported in the datasheet.

Q3, Please explain the amount of fluctuation in the above parameters (gain difference between RX ports, phase difference between RX ports, power variation between TX ports) when temperature changes.

All of these RF parameters listed in the datasheet are reported across the full junction range of -40C to +140C.

Please let me know if that answers your questions on this topic.

    Thank you,

    -Randy

  • Hi Randy

My name is Takeshi Shoji. I have similar question, so let me ask my questions in this thread.

As for the AWP1243P, could you please explain following information that are not described in the datasheet?
When temperature changes and/or for each individual
    1) Max of IQ Gain mismatch and IQ phase mismatch.
    2) Max Tx to Tx output power mismatch.
    3) Max of Rx to Rx gain mismatch, Rx to Rx phase mismatch.
These are very important for us to estimate performance of radar sensing with AWR1243P.
I would appreciate it if you could let me know your answer.

    Best Regards,

    Takeshi Shoji

  • Hi Randy

In addition to my previous questions, I would like to know following points that are not described in the datasheet.
    4) Max Tx to Tx output phase mismatch.
    5) Max difference between configured and actual values of the Tx phase shifter.
All of my questions are about AWR1243P.

AW"P"1243P in my previous comment was my mistake and AW"R1243P is the correct one.
    Sorry for confusing you.

    Best Regards,
    Takeshi Shoji

  • Hi Takeshi,

Can you please open up a new thread for these questions? We would like to keep these threads as focused as possible and on the exact topic raised by the initial post.

    Thank you,

    -Randy

  • Hi Randy,

Thank you for your comment.  I have opened up a new thread for my questions.
