OPT3101: OPT3101RHFT

OPT3101 oscillator is trimmed to a nominal frequency of 80 MHz but Is it possible to measure distance using a controller which has 16Mhz internal oscillator.

I'm using IR source(L55) and detector TL1838. I what to measure distance till 5 meter

I'm using microcontroller Nuvoton n76e003. It has internal oscillator of 16Mhz.

Hi,

OPT3101 does not rely on an external oscillator for operation so I'm not sure what the question here is exactly. You can provide an external reference and different frequencies for this are supported - see datasheet for details. However, this reference is used by the device to help correct for drift in the internal oscillator and this is optional.
