Hello,

I want to use the AWR1843Boost board in combination with the DCA1000EVM in mmWave Studio.

When i start mmWave Studio, the PostProc Version is shown as 0.0

I also get the following error message:

Furthermore, when i want to connect to the DCA1000EVM, the FPGA Version is also shown as 0.0:

This is the corrisponding message:

The User Guide for mmWave Studio suggests to check the FPGA Version but there is no clue on how to fix the error.

Moritz,

Make sure that you have MATLAB runtime v8.5.1 (32-bit) installed on your machine. You can download it here: https://www.mathworks.com/products/compiler/matlab-runtime.html

The MATLAB runtime engine is needed to run the Post Proc tool.

Hi,

the MATLAB runtime v8.5.1 (32-bit) is installed.

I also reinstalled it to make sure that it is working fine.

Moritz,

It looks like there may be an issue with your board. In the device status line, it says that you have an XWR1843 device that is ES 2.0. This is rather strange as there is no current ES 2.0 AWR1843 device.

Can you please provide a picture of your physical setup?

Hi,

here are the images of my setup:

However, the Board works fine on a customer PC where mmWave Studio and the corrisponding drivers are already installed.

So a hardware issue can be excluded.

When using the AWR1843BOOST and DCA1000EVM together, it is recommended to use two power supplies, one for the AWR1843BOOST and a second for the DCA1000EVM. Make sure both power supplies are rated for 5V and at least 2.5 A. You could be in a situation where you are current starving the DCA1000EVM.

From the pictures that you uploaded in your previous posts, I was not able to make out the device markings on your AWR1843 device. Could you provide a closer up picture? Or type out the device markings in a response post.

One other potential solution would be to install mmWave Studio in Administrator mode if you have installation restrictions on your PC. The same logic would apply to the MATLAB runtime.
