Hello,

I'm currently utilizing the IWR1443BOOST EVM with SDK2.01.

As far as I can urrently see, the EVM can be instructed to output a noiseProfile.
Would it be possible to determine the SNR of each detected object in a 2D plane with this information? If yes, how?

If you look at the doxygen documentation for demo in SDK2.0.1

The output does not contain the SNR information.

The peakval is the signal power for each peak. But since the noise estimation is not given, you will need to change the code to include that.

The noise profile is using the largest Doppler bin, you can think of it as the average thermal noise. So, it is more like signal to thermal noise ratio you get. It will not include the environment clutter.

But if you want to use the noise profile for SNR calculation, you will need to read through the code to check how they are calculated and the unit of them to be able to really use them. We do not support this feature.

For IWR1443, the range profile and noise profile can be shown in the visualizer. If you compare the range profile (zero doppler) and signal power of a static detection, you may have an idea whether they have the same scale. If so, they you can use the noise profile directly for SNR estimation.
