Hi,
Should the transducer of both open top and closed top be exposed to the outside when using an ultrasonic sensor?
Is there any ways to work normally with the cover attached? If possible, please tell me that raw material.
Best regards
Kato

Sadanori,
Transducers are made either as open top/close top.
An open top transducer should ideally we left open.
Hi Kato-san,
It is possible for some transducers to penetrate through materials/covers, but long range performance will be reduced. We have only spot checked certain covers, such as thin plastics and glass sheets, but have not fully explored this type of mechanical housing to provide specific recommendations.
If you want to waterproof an open top transducer, the best material to use for performance is cellophane wrap (though this material may easily tear). You can also try contacting the transducer supplier directly for their recommendations.
Hi Akeem-san,
Thank you for the detailed information.
I understood.
Best regards,
Kato
