DRV5032: Multi-Magnet

Part Number: DRV5032
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MG2

Hi, DRV5032 support team

Firsly, Please refer to the attached.

Customer system has 4pcs of magnet. One magnet (MG0) is to detect the open and close of board and other magnets (MG1, MG2and MG3) is to fix each boards. Hall sensor measures the magnetic flux density of MG0.

I would like to know the effect of MG1, MG2 and MG3 against hall sensor. How should I consider the effect of 3 magnets when I calculate the distance between MG0 and DRV5032? Please give me your advice.

Regards,

Tamio

  • Tamio,

Given the orientations of the three magnets, it looks like these should help bolster the field in the direction of the sensor. See below:

As these are oriented with the North pole facing down, they should strengthen the field, and should not hurt the triggering of the device. I've also sent you some additional information offline.
