IWR6843: Can't seem to find a IWR6843ISK demo lab that will build and talk to mmwave Demo Visualizer

Part Number: IWR6843
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH,

I have a IWR6843ISK with an ES1.0 SOC running on a boost board.  I  tried to import the CCS project from the lab found in ti/mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_0_1 out of box demo: 68xx_mmwave_sdk_hwa   but before it could fully import it, I got an error pop up:

Import failed for project '68xx_mmwave_sdk_hwa' because its meta-data cannot be interpreted. Please contact support.

I then imported and built the project from lab 17 mmwave_sdk_68xx_hwa found in ti/mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_6_2 that built ok and I used uniFlash to successfully load it on the board.  But when I connected

mmWaveDemoVisualizer version 3.30 it connected ok, but when I clicked on Send config to MMWAVE device, it gave me the error

There is a prebuilt bin file that comes with the TI tools that I loaded and would talk to the demo visualizer.  But I need to have a full project that I can potentially modify and have it talk to the tools

  • Hi Eric,

    1. The 68xx - Out of Box demo labs (HWA as well as DSP versions) as well as many other labs in Industrial Toolbox are compatible only with IWR6843 ES2.0 device. This is mentioned in the corresponding lab user guides in toolbox 4.0.1.
    2. You can access previous versions compatible with ES1.0 using toolbox versions 3.6.2. The instructions to download a previous version of Industrial Toolbox are provided at the bottom of the Industrial Toolbox landing page as shown below:
    3. Project Import Error: Are you using CCS 9.x? If that's the case, you'll get the same error even with previous versions. This is a known incompatibility issue between CCS9.x and Projectspecs in Industrial Toolbox. Please use CCS 8.3.1 to import projects as listed in the lab user guide.

    Thanks

    -Nitin
