Hi,

I'm usign IWR1443 and i'm thinking about how the device works in terms of CFAR.

I know that if the energy of the echos is over the CFAR threshold for the radar that is a taget. Is possible from the reading of the radar to get the energies of the obtacoles?

Because i know that this radar detecte an object but not an extended objects like a wall, so i would like to use the energy of the objects that radar sees and try to modify the way in which the radar decide if an object can be detected or not.

Where can I find some information of hot the device works and how makes its decision?

HI, Elia:

When you say energy of an object, do you meaning the RCS of the target? By the way, Radar cross-section (RCS) is a measure of how detectable an object is by radar.

Hi,

I'm afraid not, but i mean the energy associated to the echos received from the radar.

To be more clear i would like to know if the energy/range matrix used for the static heatmap is a raw matrix that is generated before the detection or is generated after the detection and then contains only the energy of the echoes associated to detected objects.

The range profile (signal power vs range) or the heat-map is computed before detection. So if there is any echos, the energy from the echo is going to show in the range profile as well as heat-map matrix.
