Temperature measurement. Whats the short pulses all about and why do there appear.
Hello User,
Our TDC Apps engineer is out of office and will get back tomorrow. Until then can you please help us describe more information in regards to short pulses ?
I have a custom board and my code is written in pic assembly. I am just trying to understand under what conditions the spikes occur. I only have one RTD can you confirm that the setting must be for two even if there is only one rtd?
The spike just makes what so supposed to be simply programming much more challenging.
When you say spikes I assume you are talking about the pulses? In the TDC1000 datasheet in section 8.3.8.2 Its indicated that the temp sensor can be configured for single RTD sensor. However in this mode the third interval is the measurement of the RTD1 sensor.
Let me know if this helps.
I am talking about the short pulses which should not be present. Under what circumstances do they appear?
Hello,
The short pulses are how the part is designed internally. It's inherent to the part. For measurements of temperature please do ignore the short pulses to measure the temperature at RTD1 as described below in the diagram.
Hello,
Let us know if this information has helped you with the issue you are facing.
Don't fully understand the explanation given. I have decided to use a method which makes temperature effect irrelevant.
