DCA1000EVM: Streaming detected point cloud through UART and Range doppler heatmap through Ethernet

Hi,

I'm interested in getting the Range-Doppler Heat map with high-rate (15-20 Hz) and I was wondering if it is possible to send the (Range-doppler heatmap) through ethernet with DCA1000 board.

It was mentioned in a previous post (http://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors/f/1023/p/759979/2816683#2816683?jktype=e2e) that this can be done by populating the Three userBuffer with the wanted data. my question is where this data is saved and how can i access it?

Yes, this is possible using SDK v3.2 or later. You will also need to install mmWave Studio v2.1. You can download both of these here:

mmWave Studio: http://software-dl.ti.com/ra-processors/esd/MMWAVE-STUDIO/latest/index_FDS.html

Please refer to section 3.3.2. "mmWave demo with LVDS-based instrumentation" for instructions on how to stream out the range-doppler heatmap over the DCA1000EVM and how to parse the file.

Please keep in mind that the parsing is done as a post-processing step and is not completed in real time.

Hi Kyle,

I'm actually not using mmWave studio for recording the SW data streamed through DCA1000evm but my own developed python script.

From the "mmWave demo with LVDS-based instrumentation" section, it's not mentioned what to change in the source code of the AWR1843boost so that those Three "userBuffer" will be populated with the "Range-Doppler Heat map" data.
