Hi, I heard that the IWR6843AOPEVM is marked for deletion but it is still available for sale in the TI store. Since the EVM is marked for deletion will the software support for the EVM that is the software development kit will also be removed ? If not, is it recommended to buy a EVM that is marked for deletion?. And may I know the reason for marking it for deletion even though it has promising specifications.

Hello sir,

I got this information from one of your representatives from the customer support center, the link for that is as follows: https://ticsc.service-now.com/csm?id=csm_ticket&table=sn_customerservice_case&sys_id=f3ec11be1b9c085085dca688bd4bcb71&view=csp . The case number of the query mentioned above is CS0082973. To double check this information i called the customer support center and even they told the same thing. I would be really glad if the EVM is not marked for deletion. Can you please confirm if the EVM is marked for deletion or not.

Hi,

I cannot access the TICSC link you sent above. Did it say in those exact words that the EVM is marked for deletion?

The current EVM is for evaluation only and the IC is not available. We are working on a revision of the EVM/IC, a more robust release with the design files, footprints, IC etc. included. At this time it is slated for release sometimes next year.

Unfortunately this is all the information I can provide publicly at the moment.

IWR6843AOPEVM - this part number is not available anymore at TI store and from any of our authorized distributors. This evm is also marked for deletion. MMWAVEICBOOST - this part number is available at TI store and also in Mouser Electronics (1 stock only). Please see contact details below. Mouser Electronics Toll Free:(800) 346-6873 Phone:(817) 804-3888"

Can you please confirm if the EVM is marked for deletion or not.

I think you misunderstood the point they were trying to make. There is a new rev coming like I said earlier,

I am not sure the term used to describe that from the TICSC point of view.

When i contacted the customer support via phone, they told me that the IWR6843ISK and the IWR6843ISK-ODS are available and the IWR6843AOPEVM is not available and is not recommended for purchase since it is marked for deletion. But on the TI online store it is showing that the EVM available for purchase ( in stock) . I am very interested in purchasing the IWR6843AOPEVM , so will you recommend purchasing the IWR6843AOPEVM and if any revision happens in the future will the support for the EVM like the software support for the EVM that is the mmwave SDK will still be available from TI?

Hi,

The IC on the EVM is the first revision and is subject to change in the second revision. Some software and hardware changes will be needed to port from ES1 to ES2. The current software for the ES1 silicon will still be available on the web. The next revision should be available sometimes next year.

Considering all the that, the decision to buy or hold off your dev. and evaluation for the next version is solely up to you.
