IWR6843AOPEVM: 6843AOP SoC configuration

Part Number: IWR6843AOPEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR6843AOP

Hi,

I read in one of the forums that 6843 in future is going to come without the DSP included. Given that 6843AOP is an extension of that, would the AOP device also be released in the future without a DSP? Going ahead is there a risk in case we design using the DSP in the 6843AOP? I'm assuming that 6843AOP is 6843 repackaged with an Antenna on Package - is this assumption correct?

Thanks

Venkatesh

  • Hi Venkatesh,

This is untrue, would you be able to point out where you found this information?

    Cheers,

    Akash

  • Hi Akash,

Thanks  for the clarification. I misread x64xx as 68xx and was concerned. This info was from resource explorer on 6843 AOP Demo.

NOTE: This version of the SDK out-of-box demo is for IWR6843AOPEVM but only uses the on-chip Hardware FFT acclerator (HWA) and does not utilize the on-chip c674x DSP. In this User Guide many of labels show xWR64xx but the demo is compatible with the IWR6843AOP. The name xwr64xx is reserved for future devices without the on-chip c674x DSP core.
