IWR6843ISK: Issues with downloading lab15 in industrial toolbox v3.6.2

As mentioned in the linked older post, the industrial toolbox v3.6.2 points to the wrong project for lab15 (see post for details). In the post, it was pointed out to download the project files manually by following the instructions in the documentation, however, even this doesn't seem to work. See attached screenshot.

Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong and how to resolve this. I am happy to download the newer version v4.0.1 of the toolbox if this issue is fixed and if that version supports ES1.0 of IWR6843 hardware.

HI Mustafa,

In the import dialog, I would expect to see two projects, both defined with .projectspec files - do you have the project spec files in the src folder?

Yes I do have the two projectspec files. See screenshot below.

Hi Mustafa,

What is that .project file? Try removing that and then importing - it may be stopping CCS from discovering the projectspec files.

Does the newer version of the industrial toolbox v4+ support ES1.0 of IWR6843 hardware? in the release notes it says that this ES1.0 was depreciated but not sure exactly what does that mean.

Hi Mustafa,

Toolbox 4.0.0 only supports ES2.0 silicon for the 2D People Counting demo.

It does work after deleting the .project file. Not sure how that file ended up there or if it was part of the original download but anyhow I am up and running.

I would still like to know if the industrial toolbox v4+ will support ES1.0 of IWR6843. Also is there a documentation that compare ES1.0 vs. ES2.0? Let me know if you want me to create a new post.

Hi Mustafa,

Future Toolboxes will not support ES1.0 labs. ES2.0 silicon is the production silicon that will be sold to customers by TI. It has improvements to the RF Front end, full features, and is fully tested.

If you need more information on the differences between the ES1 and ES2 devices, please create a new post.
