TMP1075: TMP1075 I2C standard mode

Part Number: TMP1075
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP75C,

Hello Expert,

I'm comparing between TMP75C and TMP1075 regarding I2C and I found the deference regarding as for I2C mode.
In datasheet, TMP75C said this device support 1kHz to 400kHz I2C protocol but TMP1075's datasheet only said this device support up to 400kHz.
Moreover, TMP1075's datasheet only has Fast mode and High-speed mode's timing requirements.
So I'd like to confirm that TMP1075 could covered I2C standard mode just in case. Is it possible to use with standard mode?

Best regards,

  • Kuramochi-san,

The TMP1075 datasheet has listed support from 1kHz to 400kHz. If you see f(SCL) on page 7, you will see that Fast Mode is listed as 0.001MHz to 0.4MHz. This is another way to express 1kHz to 400kHz. I am not sure at the moment why the authors of the datasheet did it this way and left out calling out the Standard mode, but as Standard mode is up to 100kHz and Fast Mode is up to 400kHz, this one table entry covers both.

Also, just FYI, any I2C device which supports higher speeds may always be operated at lower speeds. See section 5: Bus speeds, of the I2C spec itself.

  • Josh-san,

    I appreciate your swift support.
    I understood.

    Thank you and Best regards,
