Hi, My company purchased "AWR1642BOOST-ODS" in September 2019 but we received the hardware with old SDK v2.0. We started with latest SDK v3.3 and mmwave visualization Demo v3.3. There was an error saying hardware needs SDK 2.0 after harware ports were connected. Then I used old mmWave Demo visualizer for v2.0 and oldest available SDK 2.1 (mmwave_sdk_02_01_00_04) that initially resulted in the same error. The error disappeared after flashing with Uniflash v5.1.0 using "C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_02_01_00_04\packages\ti\demo\xwr16xx\mmw" binary, but there is no console message when "Send Config to mmwave Device" is clicked. I have already requested for SDK 2.0 but my request is pending export control approval. What should be my next course of action? Is there a way to update firmware of the device? Please upload a picture of your device. Have at least one picture that is zoomed in so we can see the device markings.

Please make sure you understand that the AWR1642BOOST-ODS is not supported by the mmWave SDK Out of Box Demo.

We provide the Obstacle Detection Demo in the TI Resource Explorer Automotive Toolbox that runs on the ODS board.

As mentioned in the release notes, this demo requires SDK 2.0.0.4

Kumar,

Based on the device markings that you provided, you do indeed have an ES 2.0 AWR1642 device with the ODS antenna.

What this means is that starting with SDK v2.0 and on, your device is supported. However, the Out-of-Box Demo is designed for the AWR1642BOOST device and not the AWR1642BOOST-ODS.

Please use the Obstacle Detection Demo that Cesar suggested. You will need to download SDK v2.0.0.4 which you can find here: http://software-dl.ti.com/ra-processors/esd/MMWAVE-SDK/02_00_00_04/index_FDS.html

You can use the latest version of the Automotive Toolbox.

Hi, I installed SDK v2.0.0.4 and CCS v9.2 and accessed mmWave Labs from TI Resource explorer.

The demo projects could run on the Matlab runtime visualizer. Thanks for your support.
