IWR6843: people counting lab, mmwave sensing estimator

Part Number: IWR6843

We made the board using the IWR6843 chip on the AWR1843boost.

We will made a config value using estimator and apply it to people counting lab.

We make a config value using mmWaveSensingEstimator.

We used short range default.

But people counting doesn't work.

Why doesn't it work?

What is the default setting for people counting?

Hi Chunghee,

The People Counting demo excepts less configurations than the standard OOB demo due to memory constraints. Please ensure that you have either

128 Samples and 128 Frames
256 Samples and 64 Frames

What is the goal of your chirp configuration?

Hi Chunghee,

Please see the profileCfg and frameCfg lines in the cfg file. These define the number of samples per chirp and the number of chirp loops respectively. You can find documentation on these in the SDK user's guide.

Hi Chunghee,

profileCfg controls the number of samples - this is described in the user's guide, the value you have chosen is 200 - please use 128 or 256.

frameCfg controls the number of chirp loops. You have set this value as 27 - this is fine, if you use 256 samples do not go above 64 chirp loops. If you use 128 samples stay below 128 chirp loops.
