AWR1843: Minimum mounting height over ground

Hi there,

we want to develope a application where we need to detect object installed a the ground.

As you can see the in the sketch. The radar (TI AWR 1843 AOP) faces to the ground and its minimum mounting position is arround 9cm above the ground.

My questions are:
What performance can we assume in the sketched situation regarding massive reflections from the ground?

What is the field of view can we expect? What the is evolution of the radar coils?

Stephan,

You seem to have a very interesting application .

A1: We have not done any experiments where the radar is pointing to the ground. The problem here may not be the mounting angle, but how are you going to differentiate between the ground clutter and the object.

A2: The AWR1642BOOST-ODS has a wide FOV of about 160(+/- 80) degree. The AWR1642BOOST has a FOV of 120(+/- 60) degree.
