CCS/PGA411-Q1: Pga411 unplug the excitation signal or sine and cosine signal given by the external motor. The FAULT pin has output high level, but the register cannot read the FAULT.

Are you using the GUI to read the registers? We should be able to read the fault when the excitation signal, Sine or Cos signal is disconnected from the device. 

Can you try pulling the FAULTRES pin low to see if you can read the FAULT register?

Can you make sure that the SPI communication is working properly by reading a known register? 

The fault pin goes high only when there is a fault. Also, the fault is latched and can be read by registers. 

Do you see the outputs properly once the FAULT pin is pulled low?
