WEBENCH® Tools/PGA460PSM-EVM: PGA460PSM-EVM module serial output problem

Part Number: PGA460PSM-EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA460

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

After the PGA460PSM-EVM module is connected to the serial port RX and TX, the connected PC is opened with the serial port tool, and the unknown data will be printed and output continuously, which will affect the normal configuration and reading and writing. How to close the continuous output data?

  • Hi xx2.

The PGA460 is a slave device, meaning it will only respond to commands from the master controller. The device is not able to continuously output data unless the master controller is continuously requesting data.

Can you provide a few more details about your setup? What master controller hardware are you using? What commands are you using to communicate to the device? Are you able to probe the UART RX and TX lines to determine if the master and/or slave are continuously communicating?

  • 1. We didn't make any settings for this PGA460PSM-EVM. We didn't send any device communication commands. It was just a simple connection to the RX using the serial port tool. When the TX is not connected (the host RX is only connected to the RX of the PGA460PSM-EVM, it will not be under Any command sent) will also see the printout of unknown data in the PC serial port software.

    2. Does PGA460PSM-EVM have active output data function? If so, how do I close it?

    3. The following is the picture I tested. The printout should be hexadecimal data (the string that is directly output in my figure), you can look at:
