PGA305: About Maximum number of the storage of the calibration coefficients

Guru 21045 points
Part Number: PGA305

Hi Team,

We would like to know Maximum number of the storage of the calibration coefficients.

We understand that number of the storage is “16” because EEPROM is organized in 16 pages of eight bytes each.

Is my understanding correct?

If no, could you please let us know this number?

  • Hi Team,

What do you think about the present situation regarding this matter?

I would appreciate your prompt reply.

  • Hi Hide,

There are specific EEPROM spaces for each of the calibration coefficients (these can be found in the PGA305 register map), and the number of coefficients is unrelated to the amount of space in a single page or the number of EEPROM pages.  There are 16 coefficients since they are used for a 3rd order compensation algorithm across both pressure and temperature. Up to 4 coefficients are used to adjust for pressure at each of up to 4 temperature calibration points resulting in a maximum of 16 calibration coefficients.

  • Hi Scott-san,

Thank you for the detail information.

    My understanding is as follows.

(I can’t find Case3 in the datasheet but understand that it is OK case)

    Is my understanding correct?

    Case1 :Can set the 3 pressure - 1 temperature calibration (3points)

    Case2:Can set the 3 pressure - 3 temperature calibration (9points)

    Case3:Can set the 3 pressure - 5 temperature calibration (15points)

    Case4:Can’t set the 3 pressure - 6 temperature calibration (18points (more than 16 points))

  • Hello Hide-san,

Case 3 is not supported by the calibration algorithm. The algorithm supports a maximum of 4 temperature calibration points and a maximum of 4 pressure calibration points.

  • Hi Scott-san,

    It is last question.

    I understand that I can set the 3 pressure - 4 temperature calibration (12points).

    Is my understanding correct?

  • Hi Hide-san,

That is correct. However, the only calibration modes supported by the GUI are 3P1T, 2P2T, 3P3T, and 4P4T. The PGA305 itself can support 3P4T, but the customer will have to calculate the coefficients on their own.

  • Hi Scott-san,

Thank you for your prompt reply and kind support.

    I’d greatly appreciate your verification.
