Hi, I was able to take data on mmWave Studio Version 2.1 but at the end it throws an error and I don't know what the error is for.

  • Hi,

    Do you see adc_data*.bin file getting generated at 'PostProc' directory with this experiment?

    And could you check the RunTime\trace.txt file for SPI log if ar1.StartFrame() is getting response message from the Device?
    Paste last few lines from trace.txt file here to review the status.

    Based on this log, device is not responding to frame start command.

    Could you provide answers to these questions?

    1. Is it AWR1642BOOST EVM Board or custom board?

    2. Do you always see this error or earlier it was working with another version of studio?

    3. If you clear adc_data*.bin and try this same experiment again then do you see this file generated with some data in it?

    1. It is the AWR1642BOOST board.

    2. It was working with another version of mmWave studio and it was also working with this version before.

    3. I have been running it without the adc_data*.bin file each time and it never generated a new file.

  • I ran it again and it didn't give me an error but it also didn't produce an adc_data.bin file.

    It looks like the DCA1000 is getting reset. Could you verify the 5V supply to the DCA1000? What is the current capacity of the power supply you are using? Could you try a different power supply for the DCA1000?

    I was running the DCA1000 with a 3A or a 5A power supply depending on which lab I was in. I have tried multiple power supplies but the results are still the same.

    After the 'DCA100ARM' command (ar1.CaptureCardConfig_StartRecord("C:\\ti\\mmwave_studio_02_01_00_00\\mmWaveStudio\\PostProc\\adc_data.bin", 1)) , can you add 2sec  delay before the Frame start command is called?

    In the lua script you can add a delay using  RSTD.Sleep(2000) command.

    Did you change anything in the setup from your previous attempts and this one? Previously I see that the DCA1000 connection was all going through successfully. Is the supply used for DCA1000 correct now? Is the power switch control on the DCA1000 set to the correct position?
