AWR1243: Simultaneous 3TX

Hello,

I have a custom cascade board which only supports external 1.3V RF power. It does not support bypassing the internal RF LDO on the chip.

I would like to explore whether I can still operate this board in simultaneous 3TX mode. Are there any ways to accomplish this while still using the internal 1V LDO? Would it be feasible to backoff the TX power by a couple of dB to relax the power draw on the internal LDO?

Hi Antonio,

Simultaneous 3Tx can be used only with AWR1243P variant not with AWR1243 device, so you need to make sure that you use the right device variant.

Yes, I am using AWR1243P. But my question is whether I can use simultaneous 3TX using internal 1.0V LDO and backing off the TX power.

Hello Antonio,

Backing off the TX power does not reduce the current drastically , so there could be issues or degraded performance even with backed off Tx power.
