TDC7200: TDC7200 when to do the calibration

when does the TDC7200  perform the calibration to create the data for registers CALIBRATION1 and CALIBRTION2?

Is it automatically performed before every new measurement after setting up the START_MEAS to be 1 in the Config1 ?
