AWR1443BOOST: Problems using zone occupancy 14xx

Hi,

I've already use the 1243/1443-EVM PROC010 REV A with the binary fournished by you (mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_6_1). This means that I know how to program the board by using the jumper on SOP2 (after a successful upload I unplug the jumper. Everything worked find, suddenly the board stop working so I bought 2 boards:

- IWR1443BOOST REV B

- AWR1443BOOST REV B

I tried to use the same binary, but I wasn't able to program the boards. So I update all the software Uniflash and I use the mmwave_industrial_toolbox_4_0_1. Nevertheless, I wans't able to upload the binary. I always get:

I checked the port COM UART, the jumper and I power it with 5v 5A.

The radarss.bin in the industrial tool box is for ES2.0. If you have ES3.0 device, please try and use the binary from

C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_03_03_00_03\firmware\radarss\xwr12xx_xwr14xx_radarss_rprc.bin

How can I know witch version of ES do I have?

I'll try the binary that you suggest, I'll come to you as soon as I test it.

It tried to used it and it didin't work. I had the following problem:

I found the revision number: I have the ES3.0 as you said it.

Jorge,

The flashing for the ES3.0 has changed. We do not need to flash the Radar firmware separately. But we do need to modify the MSS binary to create single meta image for flashing. Will post the instructions for the same shortly.

Please use 14xx OOB demo at http://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=ABasos6ekSODOVYPuftL5w__VLyFKFf__LATEST .

You will need MMWAVE SDK 2.1.0.4 at http://software-dl.ti.com/ra-processors/esd/MMWAVE-SDK/lts-latest/index_FDS.html

14xx Zone Occupancy GUI should work with the above OOB demo.

Hello Yogesh,

I want to thank you very much for all your help. Now, I'm able to flash the IWR and test the zone occupancy. However, I'm not able to do the same with the AWR, I'm able to flash but when I launch the GUI it doesn't work. I don't know if you have any idea why this is happening.

I have another issue, I used the lab0010-gesture-recog-swipe from the mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_6_1 with the first board version and it worked fine. Now that I'm using the new version, it doesn't work. Do you have a new binary for this application?

Yogesh,

I have 2 boards and there are not working with the GUI and the online visualizer. Is there some differents between the AWR1443 and the IWR1443? I don't understand how it can work with the IWR and not with the AWR.

Hi Yogesh,

I tried today the AWR with the online vizualizer and I have less points than the IWR. I found that it works better with the GUI supplied by zone occupancy, but it only works with the IWR. How this is possible? but board are almost the same.
