AWR1642BOOST: Capturing I and Q component from ADC

Hi,

I am new to AWR1642 EVM and have a query on the same.

1) Can we capture the raw I and Q values from the ADC.

2)In the demo profile config sampling is being done at 5500msps and the number adc samples is given 256.

Does this means that only 256 samples are taken out of entire samples for 1 frame? or something esle?

if it so can we get all the 256 samples to be sent to UART?

Hello Varun,

To get the raw IQ samples you can interface the AWR1642BOOST to the DCA1000 board . You can use the mmwave studio tool to configure the AWR device and DCA1000.

So you mean that we cant get the values through UART?

Hello Varun,

You could potentially get the values from UART (you would need to update the embedded application ) , but you would need to reduce your frame rate drastically to finish the transfer over UART before the next frame starts. Since the raw I/Q data would be very large , it will take a long time to transfer over UART.
