TIDEP-01012: Tool box / applications availability for TIDEP-01012.

After studying,working on AWR1243 boost and AWR1642 boost IQ signal processing i came to know that after considering all parameter of the EVM and signal processing advantage , disadvantages with single chips (AWR1243 boost , AWR1642boost ) is possible to detect low RCS target ( 0.5 m sq- 1m sq) up to 40m -50 m and not more than that , even we are able configure the device for long distance the gain of antennas will not supports to detect low RCS target at long ranges.

This is verified with many experiments and decided to purchase TIDEP-01012 ( MMWAVCAS-DSP-EVM and MMWAV-RF-EVM ) where it is able to detection Low RCS targets at 120 m ( My interest of work) with Tx beamforming method .

Please advice what best suit for my interest of work.

The implementation is advance and cost as well .

So i want to make sure all my doubts are clear before buying this particular EVM (TIDEP-01012) .

Is there any tool box or application or matlab code are available to get similar kind of results/ plots which are shown in above link . Or we need to develop our own post processing code for this kind of results?

If we need to develop our own post processing algo what kind of materials that TI will provide ?

after installing mmwave_studio_02_01_00_00 version I have seen matlab codes related to 4 chip cascade version but don't know how to use ....So is there any tutorials regarding using ( for beginners)?

Using (TIDEP-01012) + mmwave_studio_02_01_00_00 related (starting) help ?

Live streaming of IQ data from sensor is possible ?

Please provide the answers to my doubts and help me

    Thank you for your interest in the TI Cascaded Radar EVM. See below answers to your questions. Please let me know if this answers your questions on these topics.

    • The latest mmWave Studio 2.1 release includes a Cascade matlab MIMO and TX-Beamforming post processing script set. Please see this at C:\ti\mmwave_studio_02_01_00_00\mmWaveStudio\MatlabExamples after you install.

    • The mmWave Studio Cascade matlab MIMO and TX-Beamforming post processing script set is probably the best place to start with raw capture data processor. 
    • The Processors SDK for Radar (http://www.ti.com/tool/PROCESSOR-SDK-TDAX) has real-time Cascade radar host and processing example. It is meant to run on the same MMWCAS-DSP-EVM TDA2x processing platform.
      • This includes real-time processing and data streaming applications over Ethernet.

  • Can i use MMWAV-RF-EVM with DCA1000 EVM instead of using MMWAVCAS-DSP-EVM ?

  • Hi Naveen, 

    The MMWCAS-RF-EVM and MMWAVCAS-DSP-EVM are natively mechanically and electrically compatible through their FX-23 connector sets. Please see the associated user guides for the full connector pinouts. 

    TI does not offer a solution for interfacing the DCA1000 to the MMWCAS-RF-EVM. But the MMWCAS-RF-EVM can be used with any host processor or data capture solution you want. The only limitation is making an adapter for that particular host processor.
