How can I use the phase value to calculate the angle in RVDT?
Hello Vadim,
The phase information that is measured (phase difference of the secondary with respect to the phase of the primary) is mainly used to determine the direction of the RVDT with respect to the electrical zero point, or the electrical "center" of the RVDT. In order to determine the angle of the RVDT with respect to the electrical zero point the magnitude of the signal in the secondary coils is measured. The ratio of the magnitudes of the secondary coils to the primary is what is used to determine the displacement of the RVDT from the electrical zero point.
Regards,
